I can't say it was a family vacation because our sweet baby Sally was not there. But I am so glad she did not go with us. Thanks to the wonderful families who took care of her.
We spent a week in Lake Powell with Brads family. I think the pictures will say it all, except how bad the toilets smelled by the end of the week. We just gave up on trying to get rid of the smell with febreeze. The last few days we used matches and that seemed to work

the best.
This is one of our favorite places. We called it "Sand Mountain". We found it one of the first days there and went back at least 3 times. Most of the kids made it to the top of the hill. Rian even carried Brock up the hill. Then they all ran down and into the water. The water here was so pretty. I was so happy to see it I jumped in.

Jake had fallen asleep in the boat and was not too happy I woke him up. But it ended up one of his favorite places too.

The "skull cap" crew.

The "Blue Magic".

Our new duck friends. We fed them the moldy bread.
Brad jumping off the top of the boat.
The good the bad and the ugly of Lake Powell:
When we got to the marina at 2:00 AM we could not get to the house boat. We could not put the boat in the water with out it being checked. We slept in our cars for a few hours (if you can call it sleep) and then got on the lake around 5:00 AM.
Saturday Paige and I got sick. I am not sure if it was the heat or what but we spent half the day laying on the couch. Colette was kind enough to spray us with water to keep us cool and bring us crackers and water.
Sunday we spent about 10 hours on the boat. We had a great time seeing "Hole in the rock", hiking the Indian ruins, seeing the cathedral and all the other places to see on the lake. On the way back to the house boat we stopped at dangling rope and got ice cream (yum). Also on the way back I lost my favorite hat. I kept in on all day but it blew off at the end of the day.
We found out that our good friend, Mae Jones, passed away on July 4th (same day as my fathers death in 1996). She was 88. Hope there is rice pudding in heaven for us all to eat when we see her again.
Rian learned how to wake board. Lance taught him and Brad the tricks.
The house boat and the speed boat broke when we moved locations to get cleaner water by the house boat. But it all worked out in the end.
Found a new hat in Page Arizona. Lost a piece of carpet from the boat on the way back from Page. Then found the carpet on the side of the road. Breckens new skirt blew out of the boat on the way back to the Lake from Page.
Jake, Paige and Emily had skin issues from the sun and heat. Found out that Vaseline works on Paiges eczema.
Rian fell wake boarding on our last day and got a concussion. Rian found out how freaked out his mother can become when he is hurt. He fell while going over a wake. We could tell he was hurt but when he got in the boat he seemed to be fine. But after a few minutes he didn't remember getting the water out of the cooler. He had forgotten everything since the fall. That is when the "freak out" mother showed up.
Brad, Jen and Scott trying their best to get Rian, Lance and Brody off the tube. They never were able to get them off.
Sleeping on the top of the house boat and watching the stars at night.
Rian catching fish and the fish catching the pole.
