The Mets

Jake is our first and only baseball player. He was so excited to be on Kache's team. Brian, Kache's dad, is the coach. And Cole, Kache's brother, is helping. It is a little different than soccer. OK-a lot different.:)

Girls Weekend in Naples, Florida

I finally did it. I left everyone and went on a girls weekend (5 days!). It was a beautiful thing. And everyone survived.

How far can he shot the put?

Or is it put the shot?

The answer is about 33 and 1/2 feet. Good enough to get him in the "South End" meet.

Cinco De Mayo

We had our annual Cinco De Mayo part this year on Cinco De Mayo! We were torn between the good food and American Idol. This year we tried dulce nachos (or something like that). They are one of my favorite desserts. It is crustos (from Taco Time or homemade), vanilla ice cream, and a honey sauce (recipe to follow). Maybe a little whipped cream on top.
Honey Sauce
1 C brown sugar
1/2 C butter
1/4 C honey
1/4 C milk
Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer for 2 minutes. Stir constantly while cooking sauce.

Wicked awsome or Wicked good?

Don't shoot me but I didn't think it was all it was said to be. I think that I have heard for SO LONG that it was SO GOOD that I wasn't that impressed. It didn't wow me like I thought it would. I really liked the story and the music and I would go see it again but it wasn't all I thought it was going to be.
We went with 17 other members of my family and that was fun. I love how Glenda talks. And how much Glenda reminds me of Em. She just has so much energy sometimes she can't hold it in. I would love to talk like Glenda, just for a day, wouldn't that be fun?
Every time I see a musical I wish my life could be like that. I wish I could break out in song anytime. Of course, with the full orchestra. Since I know that won't happen I hope in heaven that I can at least be the lead in some sort of musical production. One that lasts most of my eternal life. And Mr. Lucas will get the lead male role.
BTW-Please don't ever tell me how much you liked a movie. Just that you liked it will be enough info for me.
And I don't like the "twilight" series either.

5th grade program

The 5th grade has been working on this program for several months. It was fabulous! It was all about how America became America. It had everything from the pilgrims to poodle skirts. We really were impressed at the talent of the kids and adults. Several kids had solo singing parts. Paige had a speaking part and had to wear read, white or blue.
Good Job Paigee Poo!

16 and 1/2 years later

It is our 16th year anniversary today and this is what I woke up to at about 5:30 am this morning. You can't see the little led light shining on the ring but at 5:30 am it is pretty bright and somehow it was shining right in my eyes. It felt like he was holding a big flash light right in my face. But let me start at the beginning.

Sixteen and a half years ago ( Nov 1992) Brad showed up at my sisters home (where I was living at the time) to formally propose. He drove to Sandy and climbed into (yes climbed up her patio and through the sliding door) her home. He set everything up on a cute little cart from his parents house and pushed the cart in my room (that I shared with my niece Jackie who was about 2 at the time-actually it was her room not mine).

I had been sneezing all night with a cold and I felt awful. I had a sore nose and hadn't has much sleep. But I was still happy to see him with a pop tart and a glass of milk and an engagement ring.

I love my ring but when Rian was born I stopped wearing it. I always had this fear that I would cut my babies face because of the shape of the diamond. Brad has wanted to just redo the whole ring but I am too sentimental for that. So I started looking for a ring that would be "safe" to wear around babies. I found this one a few years ago but we didn't get it.

This year he decided to get it for me. He said he had been trying to decide how to give it to me. But when he got up to go to work he decided to recreate his original proposal. Except it is Dr. Pepper in the glass this time. :)

After Paige's school program we went to one of our favorite places Taggerts for lunch. I had the yummiest jalapeno burger and Brad had the halibut. Then we each got a dessert and a few cookies to bring home. This is Sarah looking at the peacock. They have 4 that live outside the restaraunt along with other animals.
That night we went to ward temple night and the dinner after. It was a great day!
