This picture may look the same. But if you look close you can see the excitement in her eyes (could also be that you can SEE her eyes-we cut her bangs-much to her dismay). Paige was so excited to sing at GC today. After weeks of practicing (not only singing, but all the other rules too) she was ready to perform!
She left at 10:15 Sat morning and I arrived at the CC at 1:20. I rushed in to try and get the best seat possible for our section and when I walked in the auditorium and heard the children practicing it brought unexpected tears. I rushed to get seats and pulled out the binoculars to find her. It was so fun to see her and watch her practice. Then when they started singing it was even more fun to see her on the screen.
During the last song "We thank thee, O God, for a Prophet" I looked at Pres. Monson to see what he was doing during this song. He was humbly looking down at the floor. Pres. Eyering was turning around smiling at the children and then I was lucky enough to see Pres. Uchtdorf reach his hand over to Pres. Monsons wrist and squeeze it just a little. That was the end of dry eyes for me. It was such a touching gesture and I happened to see it.
It was a lot of work but it was a once in a life time experience for Paige. Lucky girl! Thanks to all the family and friends who let us know they saw her.
A side note: Rian, Emily and Jake stayed home. They got bored watching conference and made Paige a cake in the easy bake oven. They also, somehow, did not see her on TV. Silly kids.
